Porters Lake is a small rural community on the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia, Canada. It is part of the greater Halifax Regional Municipality, and is about 25 km east of the city of Halifax. The community is built around the lake from which it takes its name.
The latest population statistics for Porters Lake has increased more than 16% over 10 years from 3,202 residents in 2011 to 3,716 residents when last recorded in 2021. The total land area encompassed by the borders of Porters Lake totals 91.573km ².
The area has many amenities and recreational opportunities. The main shopping area is located off Highway 7, very close to exit 20 of the NS-107 highway. Here, you can find shopping, gas stations, grocery, restaurants and fast food, banking, hardware, pharmacy and much more.
